Tolotta Records was founded by Joe Lally of Fugazi in 1994 to release singles
by friends who wanted something available before they were ready to
release a full-lenght . After putting out 2 singles , one each by
SEVENS and STINKING LIZAVETA , Tolotta lay dormant awhile since most
every band in the DC area was realised singles on their own . In 1997
the label found purpose again when Wino (ex.Obsessed and St.Vitus)
moved back to the area and asked Tolotta to realise a 7" by his band
SHINE (now SPIRIT CARAVAN) . With Spirit Caravan looking for an
independent label to put out their first full-lenght , Tolotta moved
into making CD's and "Jug Fulla Sun" was realised in 1999
