        01. EVOLUTIONARY SQUALOR
        02. EVOLUTIONARY SQUALOR

Long-running, high-energy, San Francisco boy-wonder band that makes shit up as they
go along. Recorded before a live audience in Gradys Record Refuge in 2008, this warped
and powerful outing features the late, great Steve Mackay, best known for his saxophone
work on The Stooges classic Funhouse album, as well as members of the Bad Trips adding
to the miasma. 500 pressed.

atmospheric and unsettling.

All acoustic, original compositions, in the American Primitive Guitar tradition of
John Fahey, Leo Kottke and Jack Rose. Charley Benton lives in Ojai, CA. A versatile
self-taught musician, he has an affinity for the unique and homemade. Instruments
played on this album include an1844 parlor guitar,a Ukulele made of Lucite and a
guitar built from a gas can. Charley calls this one Ethyl. On the song "Tinderbox"
he plays bottleneck on an old cigar box with a hand-carved wooden neck and three
tuners. This is no novelty album; Benton draws deep from American roots. The music
is genuine and heartfelt. 500 pressed.

RS 209 JEFF GRIMES MORE THAN MONEY LP 02.2017

        02. INVISIBLE GIRL
        03. CROSSINGS
        04. HOLY LIFE

        06. STANDING AT THE STATION
        07. FOUR FOOT AND GLASSY
        08. WANING SONG

Rich, imaginative lyrics wrapped in a skillful mix of blues, psychedelic, rock and
folk, this is the ultimate statement from Ventura writer/musician Jeff Grimes. From
the guitar-mauling assault against hypocrisy and abuse of power of "No Compassion,
" to the gospel-like choir of "Holy Life," to the graceful country feel and mystical
lyrics of Crossings, to the not-quite-a-surf instrumental "Four Foot and Glassy,
" More Than Memory is consistently diverse and thoroughly sublime. Features backing
by members of Tall Tales & the Silver Lining, Little Wings, and Neal Casal (Chris
Robinson Brotherhood, Ryan Adams). Stoughton gatefold jacket with download code.
