Vinyl-only album by Chris Petit & Mordant Music, inspired by a freeze frame
accidentally rendered from Petits late-night viewing of Nicolas Roeg's 'The Man
Who Fell To Earth'. Petit is known for working with David Bowie on his 1979 film
'Radio On', and continues to be a purveyor of visionary strides forwards in sound,
film and literature. Simon Reynolds has been confirmed to write a large piece on
the album to coincide with the anniversary of Bowie's death. Limited to 250 copies
with screen printed cover.

PURRRRJ 1       FRANS ZWARTJES & LODEWIJK DE BOER : MASTERPIECE         LP      09.2019

Frans Zwartjes (1927-2017) was a Dutch artist, filmmaker and musician, once called
the most important experimental filmmaker of his generation by Susan Sontag. Lodewijk
de Boer (1937-2004) regularly appeared in Zwartjes' work, and almost always performed
on or co-composed the soundtracks to his films. De Boer would go on to compose
original scores for the likes of Marleen Gorris and Pim de la Parra, but is best
known in his native Holland as a theatre director. Zwartjes and De Boer's "Masterpiece"
is literally like nothing you've heard before. The B-side features the track
"Spectator" by The Frans Zwartjes Soundsystem. Comes on 180 gram vinyl with screen
printed plastic sleeve, two custom-made inners, double-sided riso poster and separate
text panel. 500 numbered copies. NEVER EVER a repress.
