KWR 1 MICHAELE ANNE BRIGHT LIGHTS CD 03.2019

        01. LIVING WITHOUT YOU
        02. IF ONLY
        03. BRIGHT LIGHTS AND THE FAME
        04. EVERYTHING I COULDN'T BE
        05. WON'T GO DOWN
        06. WORRYING MIND
        07. EASIER THAN LEAVING
        08. LUISA (FEAT. RODNEY CROWELL)
        09. WHAT GOOD IS WATER
        10. LIQUOR UP
        11. STARS

This one showcases a newfound brashness, from songs like "Won't Go Down," which
reflects on the challenges of living a fun, free life while staying morally grounded,
to "Worrying Mind" which answers the call from her song "Ease My Mind" as she traded
in her life in New York City for the more relaxed atmosphere of Nashville. Michaela
Anne's evolution is even evident in the album's cover, in which she sports a
bedazzleddenim outfit, a vintage find that's perfect for catching the spotlight.
Recorded with producer Dan Knobler (Mason Jar Music), Bright Lights and the Fame
features a slate of special guests that include Americana stalwarts Rodney Crowell
and Noam Pikelny (Punch Brothers) along with co-writes from acclaimed producer Dave
Brainard (Brandy Clark, Jamey Johnson).

EZF 3 JIM KWESKIN & GEOFF MULDAUR : CHASIN' GUS' GHOST CD 03.2019

Using as a point-of-entry the introduction to four popular celebrators of that form
- Gus Cannon, Cannon's Jug Stompers, the Dixieland Jug Blowers and the Memphis Jug
Band - Kwait then employs a co-mingling of archival clips and photographs and
interviews to illustrate how jug music impacted folk and rock music from the 1960s
through the 1970s. He subsequently moves into a discussion and exploration of jug
music's widespread popularity in contemporary Japanese culture. Participants (and
interviewees) include Bob Weir, Fritz Richmond, John Sebastian, Jim Kweskin, Geoff
Muldaur and others.

KWR 1405 PUSHING CHAIN PUSHING CHAIN CD 03.2019

        01. I'LL LOVE YOU MORE
        02. THE DARKNESS
        03. RIGHT
        04. ONE MORE TIME
        05. EARWIG
        06. DON'T ASK WHY
        07. TIGHTROPES AND FINE LINES
        08. BROKEN OARS
        09. WITHOUT YOUR LOVE

Featuring eight songs written by Blomberg and one by Moe, tight harmonies, a jazz
-based rhythm section, and the masterful engineering and production of Tom Herbers,
the project gives Pushing Chain an excellent studio polish without losing the flavor
of the their live shows. The duo plays roots and Americana music. Pushing Chain
believes in strong harmonies, kazoos, and sad songs; in performing songs we've never
played together, and jamming with people we've just met; that a guitarist and a fiddler
can cover Hendrix if they want to; that music can cause tears and laughter, sometimes
in the course of one song, and that a good band can make strangers share a table.

This is Pushing Chain at their best, playing and singing their original folky-tonk
music backed by some of the best players in Austin, Texas: Kirchen on guitar, Hallman
on piano and organ, David Carroll on bass, and Rick Richards on drums. Texas guitar
legend Redd Volkaert also makes an appearance on the last cut, an instrumental number
that puts an exclamation point on the album these 12 songs deserved - a straight-up
Americana/country record that would have been as at home in 1968 as it is in 2018.
Pushing Chain is Boyd Blomberg on guitar and vocals and Adam Moe on fiddle and vocals.
The duo recently celebrated 20 years of making music together, as well as the release
of their new album, Sorrows Always Swim. Playing approximately 200 shows every year,
Boyd and Adam have been doing what they can to spread their brand of folky-tonk roots
music far and wide in venues big and small across the United States and Canada.
