outfit Roots, delivered via Frederiksberg. Led by masterful saxophonist Barney
Rachabane, a titan of the country’s jazz scene, ‘Roots’ was an electrifying cross
between township soul and leftfield Afro-jazz that influenced a great deal of jazz
fusion artists in the years subsequently.
