Turkish / Greek madness from Israel! Three psych killers from Levitros, a lesser-known
artist from what is known as the 'Israeli Greek craze' of the early 70s. Deep and
intense, Kara Kaslar drops heavily after a long intro in what can only be described as
a true tavern monster. On the B-side expect Farfisa and drum interpretations to Greek
rooted tunes, made strictly to keep the crowds dancing all night long. Staple tracks

Tel Aviv-born hippie Shimshon Miel self-released his only LP in 1977. It was a strange
experiment in psychedelia, full of drum circle percussion and floating chemtrails of
guitar. Fortuna have repackaged two of the album’s cuts here as Amsterdam to Nueiba.

Written entirely on a Synclavier synth in a basement of Tel-Aviv University in 1985,
keyboard player Raviv Gazit was very much ahead of the curve with the Ze album, full
of icy and cinematic electronica originally composed with the theatre in mind. It now
gets an overdue re-issue on vinyl via Fortuna Records.

Koko is a Moroccan singer who learnt to sing in Greek so he could record a Greek
belly dance party album. I mean, do you need to know more before clicking ‘add to
cart’?! Okay then. It’s a self-titled album on which Koko’s voice is backed with
searing organ, thumping drums and throbbing bass. Guaranteed party starter.
